Neogen Dermalogy Real Cica Pad Review

Hello, hello everyone!

I hope you’re having a wonderful day! If you read my blog, you know how much I love me a good skincare product. I find that my skin especially loves K-Beauty products, because so far, almost all worked well for my normal to dry, sometimes dehydrated skin.  Today I am writing my thoughts about cotton pads soaked into an essence – NEOGEN Dermalogy Real Cica Pad.

Neogen Dermalogy Real Cica Pad Review

This product is described as:

Skin Barrier Recovery + Calming Hydration + Skin Protecting + Dead Skin Peeling. A skin-calming recovery cica pad soothes the irritated and sensitized skin while reinforcing the skin barrier. Cica repair essence & PHA moisture peeling ingredient supplies skin-calming hydration while removing dead skin cells and excess sebum.

The product is packaged in a way that the cotton pads are soaked in an essence formulated with Centella asiatica extract (a.k.a. Cica).  Because it has a low pH of 5.83, these pads are suitable enough to use daily – as the instructions say: 1 pad 1 day routine! The plastic tub has a weight of 150mL with 90 pads inside, so you’re getting a lot for your money-the price on SokoGlam website is $20.00. The only thing that is weird is that the lid sometimes doesn’t close properly and I always have to double check it. So, have that in mind if traveling.

First thing that caught my eye was this: Free of potential irritants like parabens, artificial fragrance, and mineral oil. Then the star ingredients like: Centella Asiatica Extract, Asiaticoside, Asiatic Acid, Madecassic Acid, Madecassoside, Hyaluronic Acid, Ceramide NP (Ceramide 3). Just to name some of the benefits: Centella Asiatica is here to soothe the skin and calm it down, Hyaluronic Acid provides hydration and Madecassoide is good for preventing UV induced hyper-pigmentation.

Full ingredients list: Water, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Centella Asiatica Extract, Dipropylene Glycol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Asiaticoside, Asiatic Acid, Madecassic Acid, Madecassoside, Lactobionic Acid, Gluconolactone, Hyaluronic Acid, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Sodium Hyaluronate, Octyldodecanol, Ceramide NP(Ceramide 3), Hydrogenated Lecithin, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Allantoin, Betaine, Panthenol, Cetearyl Olivate, Sorbitan Olivate, Glyceryl Caprylate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Tromethamine, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Xanthan Gum, Propanediol, Diglycerin, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil, Disodium EDTA.

I like the convenience and the simplicity of having already soaked pads. After cleansing my face, I just take one out, swipe it all over my face. Then I tap the essence into the skin and I am good to go with the next skincare step. These pads eliminate redness and inflammation and this help my skin looking better and healthier. Another plus it is that they help to promote collagen production. The formula contains hyaluronic acid which hydrates my skin and it is free of parabens, artificial fragrance, and mineral oil. What’s not to love?

Have you tried this or any similar product? What is your current favorite skincare item?

Until my next blog post…

Pore Control All-In-One: The Canadian Clay Pore Cleanser

Now, how would you feel if I tell you there's a product out there that can get rid of makeup, excess sebum, dirt, toxins, blackheads and dead skin build up in only one step? I know, you'd think I'm lying, but I'm not. I got introduced to Neogen Canadian Clay Pore Cleanser around a year ago during this same time of the year and my very first question was: How can a cleanser contain clay in it and not be extremely drying? Specially now with temperatures dropping I don't wanna put anything on my face that's gonna take hydration away. But must admit I was extremely surprised after the first time I actually used it.

I feel like 2018 is a Cica year - all the Cica products that we can see all around the place. This trend seems to be associated with K-beauty but it's not only about Korean brands that started this cult. There's always a reason why something becomes popular so I was positively surprised when I heard that Neogen has decided to make a series based on Centella Asiatica and release the Cica series. Currently, my double cleansing is based on Neogen Cica Micellar Cleansing Oil and Neogen Cica Micellar Cleansing Foam. How does it look like and why you should give a chance to this due?

New Season, New Cleanser, Real Fresh Foam Cranberry

One of the things I swap immediately when temperatures drop is my water-based cleanser. While during summer I tend to go for gel ones (which will get rid of excess sebum) for colder weather I tend to lookout for light-foam ones that will protect my skin's hydration levels. Now, there's lots to say about cleansers in the skincare community. The pH should be low, the pH should be high, some ingredients are good, some ingredients are bad, there should be no alcohol in them, there should be some kinds of alcohol in them… and a long, long list that could go on for years, but at the end of the day it's all about what works for you.

Exfoliators can have different forms but one of the most controversial is for sure peeling pad. Why are they so controversial? Because they usually mix two forms of exfoliants - chemical exfoliants and mechanical exfoliants. Today I want to show you the product I wanted to try for ages mostly because it was curated byCharlotte Cho, the owner ofSokoGlamas well as I've heard lots of good opinions about it from many beauty bloggers from all around the world -Neogen Bio-Peel Gauze Peeling Lemon. How do mixing chemical and mechanical exfoliators work? Is this mix better than traditional exfoliators?
